Hope you did both sides of gasket with rtv for the water ports and hoped you used Hi Tack around the intake ports again both sides!

After a good cleaning and wipe down with lacquer thinner I dry fit pan gasket to motor first bend as needed, put a bead of RTV on end rails (throw out the rubber seals) of motor & around water ports (both sides on gasket) so it can setup some then Hi Tack around intake ports (I use a brush on type, both sides on gasket). When RTV sets up I fit pan gasket to motor then drop intake on.
Because my set up is used for drag racing only I blocked off the exh. cross over on both sides using an old pan gasket. I cut it so the blank fits just inside the raised part of the gasket I use RTV to hold blank (and seal) till intake is on.

    Hope this may help others

O yeah I did put rtv on both sides of the pan. Forgot that part.
Nothing is fool proof to a sufficiently tallented fool!
