A new revised Fair Labor Standards Act took effect August 2004.
I was fired back in July 2006 cause I refused to accept a company policy
that claimed my job was salaried exempt, no time and half for overtime.
I consulted with an employment attorney and the US Dept of Labor,
both agreed my job and position was not salaried exempt and my employer
owed me the half time back pay for all the overtime I had worked.
I had the attorney mail a letter to my employer in January 2006.
They told me I could have the money they owed me if I quit
and not to work anymore overtime for any reason.
It took them 6-7 months to come up with enough lies and B.S. to fire me.
In one case I was written up as insubordinate for not working overtime.
So I'm just curious, may I ask,
do you get paid time and a half for overtime ?
