I still think these shaped like pistons with the set screw(s) as the wrist pin would be cool ... big enough to do the job with gloves or mud on your paws

NOT to articulate (piston to conrod) 'cause the 'clacking' when bouncing down the trail would drive ya nuts after a very SHORT while

A set of 6 in billit aluminum for under $20 bucks (Tellico 4x4 offers the regular knobs for $22) and these would be straight with just the ring grooves (or the rings protruding for grip?) so there is less machining and no knurling required

    Choice of anodized colors

1.25 AL rod, turned, drilled and tapped with maybe some valve dishes cut into the face?

That would match my piston shifter knob on my Lokar Shifter!
