The 79 has a 4 wheel drive hardware fiberglass tub,and one piece front-end,Advance frame works hot dipped galvanized frame,2 1/2 inch Skyjacker springs,1 inch body,Eagle 589's 16x8,with 285/75/16 B.F.Goodrich muds,4.3 Chevy Vortec,Edelbrock intake,Holley 470 truck avenger,268 Comp cam,Z-28 valve springs and oil pump,speed pro flat top pistons,single moly rings,3 angle valve job,custom built aluminum gas tank,rear Dana 44 with 4.09,trak-loc,front Dana 30 with Detroit tru track and 4.10,full size waggy calipers,Mopar aluminium master cylinder,Steward components lock resistant brake system(in place of the proportion valve),Edelbrock IAS shocks,Turbo 400 mild shift kit,10 inch converter,Dana 20,and a lot of other stuff.
The sons 83 is apart down to the bare frame right now,but it had a 258 with 4.0 head,Z-28 valve springs,comp cam,Clifford intake,390 holley,GM HEI with MSD coil,and module,T-176,rear Dana 44 3.54,powr-loc,front dana 44 with 3.54 and lock-rite,in the picture it had 37 inch boggers,it then had 35 inch BF Goodrich muds.4 inch springs with rear CJ springs at all 4 corners,2 inch body,and as the others,I can't list it all here.
The 258 has been sold,(the intake and carb are going on my CJ-7,)Nick(my son) is filling in all the holes on the frame(not rust holes,but the holes punched in it from the factory) it probably will have a 360,but the 401 may go in it,(depending on time and money)a 999 tranny is going in,the rears are getting 4.30 gears,and I forgot what size tires he's going back with,wheels will be 12 inches wide.
I also have a another 83 CJ-8 for me, in the pipe line,it will be sort of a pro street/sand drager,with a 517 CID Caddy engine,turbo 400,dana 20,dana 60,dana 44.

They are all Very clean looking, way to keep it in the family!
Here's a few updated pictures.
Nick put the 401 in his CJ-8,we don't know if it has too much power for the 999,or the guy didn't build it rite,but it fried the 999 in less than 300 miles.
Here's the latest Jeep to the collection,it's a 1985 J-20 with a 1977 grille,it's Nick's.It's in the 2008 FSJ calendar.
New tires on my CJ-7
I made a new front bumper for my CJ-7.
I'll have to take another photo of the CJ-5,it has new wheels,and tires.Dick Cepek 15x10 the black DC-1's,and Super Swamper TSL 33/12.50/15
sweet ride's i don't know about the sthrengh of the 999, but i have 727 behind my 401 and it's built,so far so good.
keep the pictures comeing, i like those valve covers...
doing a frame off, 401/727t/f art carr manule valve body,fiberglass body,4.5 R.E lift, 456 gears locked f/r, 35" crawlers. UPS is helping build it
Nice work on the bumper too.. !! I am a J truck fan also.. I am looking for a Rhino grill for my 84.. Nice rides one and all..
