Ha, Funny story about the color selection. The original color was blue, Not typical AMC blue but a little darker and it reminded me of Ford. There was no way I was having an engine that reminded me of Ford. I'm a SBC guy but have reserved the color orange for Chevies. I thought red would be a good way to go then. (that engine is actually redder that the picture shows) Anyway..after I got it all painted and was about to throw the can in the trash, I look on the bottom of the back of the can and it says "FORD RED"
The 360 in my CJ is red, just VHT red, not FORD red. The T/A Javelins had red engine blocks. I tell everyone it's a T/A block.

That's actually a very nice blue.
Aye, was hard to find the AMC Blue engine paint in Canada.
Managed to get it but it was $15 a can!
Still worth it though. I really wouldn't have been happy without it. Must have been the influence of all these AMC forums I browsed before I rebuilt her. ;)
here's one for the red/chrome
