MSD woes?

I have a no-start issue with my 460 ford truck.

It's got the msd 6-a (1 week old), msd coil (also 1 week old), new dist. pickup (yes, 1 week old), everything is wired correctly, and it was running fine yesterday. Checked power at all wires, and everything seemed ok except:

At the coil, The MSD box seemes to be pulsing the positive terminal of the coil. My understanding is that it is supposed to give power to the positive, and pulsate the negative, right?

Coil does not fire.

What could cause this? bad msd box? bad pickup?

I just had the same thing happen. Mine was a bad coil.

change the coil. even msd can have a bad batch of coils.
