Its a brand new cover, pump, adapter, plunger and all that from bulltear so i thinkin a dirty spring isnt the prob. Plus the block and heads were all cleaned and hot tanked and its only got 800 miles since rebuild. But i did have the crank ground by Brewster? machine up near Akron ohio. The local Napa machine shops first choice for crankshafts and rods. It came back .020 mains and .020 rods and everything plastigaged right in specs.

Before we go any further try a Wix/Napa gold filter and if that doesnt cure it send the pump back to us here and we will give it a second inspection. Rarely does a break in ruin a set of gears but I have seen a dirty install cause massive gear wear.

you mean 35-40 psi running down the road right? not at idle..
If I could get a solid 25 psi at idle I would be darn near orgasmic.

Driving down the road it is great but at idle it leaves some to be desired at around 10 psi hot idle and bout 2k rpms its round 40 psi. Its just that think jeep will see alot of idle time out in the woods and i dont want to screw something up letting it idle with low oil pressure.
