You need it for cam & distributor gear alignment... You could have a spacer made but it's honestly not worth the time/money... I have an electric pump on my 360 and the eccentric is just along for the ride.... Make sure you have at-least one more electric pump on-hand. Also, you should have a return line that routes back to the tank.. this way the line doesn't build too much pressure making the pump work hard and getting too hot... These pumps are made to constantly push/pull fluid through them... once the line is pressurized the only movement of fuel is what goes through the carb and into the engine... which isn't ideal for an electric pump... you'll ultimately shorten the life of the pump. Hopefully this helps a little...

Try Jeep, do you need a cam bolt too? Maybe some one has extra parts they would part with? Sorry I don’t have any extras.

If you have access to a junk yard find yourself a wagoneer etc with a 360 etc... you can use those and you'll be fine.

I have a spare fuel pump eccentric if you need one...just pay me a few bucks plus shipping...may even have a cam bolt too.
If this new part can't break....what old part will??
