    Ebay 3 row Pulley

Not sure if you found a pulley but I saw this on Ebay - think it's what you need.

    Ebay Item 180163111215

Whoops - this was meant for 74on35s.
No CJ's left. 1968 AMC = long term.

    thanks for the link!
Unfortunately I need the 3 groove, 3 bolt style pulley.
Apparently I have a 70 and earleir engine in my '74... Makes it harder to find stuff, I guess!

What you have may be a 1 year only, maybe 2 years application.

1970 was first year for 360 and 1971 or 1972 was first year for 4 bolt main pulley.

    Although 3 bolt pulleys from '67-'70 290-343-390 is the same I think as the '70 to '71 or '72 304 & 360.

Now I wonder, did a 401 ever come with a 3 bolt main pulley ?

Does anyone know when the 3 to 4 bolt changed ? '71 or '72 ?

Do you have an aftermarket balancer? I put a professional products sfi balancer on my 69' 390 and it uses a 4 bolt pulley.

Looked in the 1967-72 AMC Parts Manual.

    Group # 1.046-1

for V8's 1967-72 they only show one part number

    # 448 7181

I have a '69 343 with 3 bolt main pulley that only has 2 grooves.

Could it be that a 3 bolt pulley with 3 grooves was not produced ?

Not until later, like post '72, were 3 groove pulleys used ?
And that's when the water pumps got 3/8 taller
but the water pump pulleys got deeper also.

When I tried a '72 & up taller water pump and deeper pulley
with the earlier 3 bolt main pulley, they did not line up
but that could have just been my luck, you may fair better.

Did you also get the water pump pulley from the same
junkyard motor that you got the 4 bolt main pulley from ?

To get a 3 groove main pulley it sounds like you're gonna need a 4 bolt dampener.

Funny thing, When I bought the CJ, the fan belts didn't quite line up right. Didn't seem to hurt anything, so I left it.
When I got the J/Y parts, I ended up using the later model 3 groove WP pulley, and all the belts are lined up perfectly now!

I appreciate the thoughts about not having a factory 3 groove, 3 bolt pulley. I'm still looking, but its a back burner thing right now.
