    tranny help

Hey guys, well im just about finished with the rebuild on my 304 except for a couple of bracket issues.now i need some advice on the tranny part.i have a nv4500 out of a dodge 250.i beleive its out of a 85 model.im not sure if i really need this much tranny.and im not sure what adapters i need, clutch assembly all that goes with this conversion to the 304.or should i go with a jeep tranny or somthing a little less complicated.this is my first ever rebuild.so im not sure about what to do here.maybe an auto tranny would be simpler.little imput would greatly be appriciated.and some lamein terms would be good to.by the way its all going into a 88 yj.

    Thanks Dave.

A T-18 or NP435 would be an easier install if you can do without the overdrive. You may need to change input shafts or add a spacer in the front of the 4500. At the rear you need a Dana 300 or NP231 t-case adapter. It will be long, if you're going for a lot of lift, a rear drive shaft may be tricky.
