    whats the best shock for a cj with 4" lift daily driver/freeway driver. without a reservoir.

    I really like the Rancho 9000s. Spendy though, at around $70 each. I like the adjustability, softer on the trail, firm on the street to cut down body roll. You can even adjust in-cab with a kit.

    It all depends on what you plan on doing...if you in the desert driving hard a remote ressy should be used to help keep the shock cool. You may want the shock to act as a bump stop or you may want a thicker shaft shock to handle the crazy articulation and rock abuse. Alo of these shocks are made in the same place so that is something to consider as well.
