    IH 392

Would there be any value to a IH 392?? Buddy of mine knows of an old lady that used to own her own bus and the motor blew.......from what i've been told she bought a brand new crate motor from IH way back when and it never got installed and just sat in a garage and now she wants rid of it........$200 bucks they tell me. Been sitting in heated garage for 20 or more years. Would there be a good resell value?

$200 for a new crate motor would be cheap. The only people it would have any value for would be the Scout crowd. It's basically a BIG, HEAVY, low performance, run forever truck motor. Not much out there for performance parts.

I bet out there in the Scout crowd, someone would pay 5X that for a crate motor for a restore though.

    Maybe try www.anythingscout.com ?

I have a 392 in my 69 IH 1200D truck..... It's low on HP but the Torque is killer... This truck has a 7' plow on the front 392 under the hood Matched to a T98 with a 202 T-case, D70 rear and a HD Large Ball Closed Knuckle 44 front and the truck has overloads!... It's a freaking Haus!!! Very strong and reliable motors... I'd definitely post it on www.binderbulletin.org

Id like to snag it up and toss it in the corner for a while and then maybe sell it later on when i need some cash But i just have to get my buddies buddy to call the lady.....and we all know how these situations usually end up

Doesn't hurt to try.... the worst case scenario is that it doesn't work out... What's the problem with that?
