    258 connecting rods

I'm looking for a set of 258 connecting rods for an amc 258, casting number 707 or 352.

I have a 79 cj here with a 258 but have no idea what the casting numbers would be. I am not to keen on teking it apart but if it is worth the trouble I will. I guess I am saying how much you willing to pay for the rods and any idea if these might be what you want?

I am near Atlanta Ga. I just won a set on ebay, but I can use another set. The local pullapart wants $13.00 a rod. I won the set on ebay for $15.00 plus shipping. I am building a couple of 4.0 stroker engines (4.6L). I got 2 crankshafts from pullapart for $31.00 each. The 4.6 stroker is a 4.0L .030 over with a 258 crank and rods in it. With a small cam people are getting as much as 269hp @ 4800rpm and 340lbft @ 2500rpm, without really effecting gas milage. (If you can keep your foot out of it)

I'm not sure. I haven't received the rods from ebay yet. It should be cast in there somewhere.

For $46 it is not worth the trouble to me to take apart a motor. I will just leave it in the jeep and scrap the whole thing out.
