any mods to the 401's? what axles and gears are you running with the 401's. We're in the process of buiding a cj7/401 quadratrac with 44's loaded with 3:54's for the street. I'm hoping we're happy with them. Can see it at http://quadra-trac-jeep-cj7-buildup.blogspot.com/
the Red CJ7 has a .030 401 with stock pistons. It has a Crower 228/234 (at .050) 512/525 cam, shaved heads w/ Sharp roller rocker, cromo push rods, balanced rotating assembly, R4B intake, Holly 750 Truck Avenger, Thorly Tri Y headers w/ 2.5 inch duals. I'm running 4.11's with (now) 33" Swampers. It has excellant power.
The J20 has a .030 401 w/ stock pistons, Summit k8600 cam, Offey dual Port intake, Edelbrock shorty headers w/ 2.5" duals.
It has 3.73's with 33's. It has good power.
