    newbish help....grr

I had to install a new dipstick tube today. I just can't get the pan back on now. The new (bulltear) tube fits perfectly, but I can't get it lined up to put the dipstick down into the sump of the pan. My pan has the round hole for the oil pickup and another rectangular(ish) hole to the side of it (driver side, just to the rear of the round hole). Is THAT the hole where the dipstick goes in? I can't get the darned thing to line up.

    Heeeeeelp.

You should spin the tube slightly to allow the pan to fit. This is common with dipsticks becasue you can install them with few different clocking positions.

If the pan is on, put the dipstick in the tube, then slide the assembly thru the block. You can rotate it until it until the dipstick goes thru the hole in the baffle.

The pan is off. I need to know what hole the dipstick goes through. Is it the round hole for the oil pickup, or is it the oval/rectangular one beside the round hole?

    BRACKET

JUST INSTALL THE VALVE COVER BRACKET. THIS WILL PUT THE TUBE IN THE RIGHT SPOT.
