I have had skullsplitter and liked it I have also had some belgian brews that were around 10-11% and very dark! If you like a sweeter dark beer look for look for Lenys bittersweet rye ipa. Its a rye double ipa made by He'brew. comes in a big bottle and a friend might be needed to help but it is good

It's pretty normal to drink it instead of sip it. But it won't take much "drinking" to figure out a mistake has been made! Most of what I see out there now is flavored shine and it is actually real good if you nurse it! I think N.C. makes the best! Your missing a treat if you've never tried it. You may never go back to splitting skulls again!lol!

Fave beer: Phillips Longboat double chocolate porter (local brewery)

Fave other: pretty much any decent absinthe. There's a ton of crappy distilleries out there, so it's hard to find decent stuff but it's worth it.

Cold usually works for me, though I too like the Guiness and Porters. Amber Bock is fine as a make do, but hte best was the 1250 in Manchester. They go by specific gravity and not a name and 1250 is darker than Guiness I believe A 1400 still has the chaff in it
