    360 Ignition Questions

HEI distributor questions for you guys...

We've got an HEI Bulltear distributor for our AMC 360 and have some questions.

    1) Do we need an ignition module and if so what brands are y'all using and what do you recommend.

    2) How do we hook it up into an 81 Jeep Scrambler with wiring harness for the old 258?

    3) Plug wires - good sets y'all recommend?

no module needed its under the cap. just hook it up to the key on/start wire from your old module. as for wires get a good set of cut to length wires

Old module being the solid state one that was mounted to the fender? Which wire is that?

usually a big red one that goes to the old module. just get out your multimeter and start testing them. look for one that only has power when the key is in the run position and start. it must have power in both positions. you can also find it under the dash. if you have a factory tach it is the big red wire that the tach is hooked inline with. if you dont have the tach it will be just right of the steering column and will have a connector where the tach would normally be put inline.
