SO I have a howel EFI system on my 401 and it did not include spark control. i am going to add spark control and the knock sensor since i think that the relationship between a fuel injection system and the distributor is one that needs to exist otherwise you are forfeting one of efi's biggest benefits.

i need to get back to them pretty soon with the engine specs for the new prom and id like to give them some basics on what kind of a 401 timing curve since they want to start with a chevy 350 or amc 360 timing curve that they have on file. i am thinking a 454 TBI timing curve will be more in line for a starting point.... but i never have looked at a timing table. As i recall all hei conversion distributors are setup for SBC's and in 401's they cause detonation. at least thats been my experience.

does anyone have a timing table they used when setting things up. i'll have a knock sensor so that should keep problems to a minimum.... but i could sure use a spot to start from.
