If this new part can't break....what old part will??
WTH are you building/up-grading?
GM sure welded these suckers on good...but they must be moved. At least I can reuse them again.
Brings back memories of my old '74 Hornet with the dual quad 360 727 narrowed 9" Ford. MC when you get done, I want a ride in yours.
Next up are the shock mounts. No working on it this weekend though. Other duties call...

Well slow going but it's going to fit. Have the front mounts worked out, just have some more grinding, some sandblasting and welding. Then there's the back mounts to work out.
That little creeper sure is holding up good considering the weight. Wondering if shocks are even necessary with these springs. ha ha I think my carrying capacity just jumped dramatically.
Looking at some steel US Wheels and around a 33" BF Goodwrench All terrains.
Still waiting on the th400/np205, getting new seals and beefing up the th400 alittle more than the last go around.
I hope to use the stock quadra-trac cross member to mount the np205...at least in some capacity. I suppose a hole in the floor now and maybe a short shifter thats out of the way. No twin stick here though...Going to try CV joints front and rear...swapping out the slip yoke on the transfer case. Going to be some spendy drive shafts I suppose. Also need to swap out the Dana 44 gears up front to a 4.10 set (already have)...but if anyones got a dana 44 locker for cheap?

My CTD tow rig doesn't have that many springs, and it doesn't even squat when I am hauling the trailer and fill the bed. That is going to be a miserable ride. Your spring capacity is far beyond anything that the frame OR tires can handle.Originally Posted by Mudrat
Not going to argue with you on the ride quality, but as far as everything else it fits in with the build. This is not going to be a trail truck or a truck to pull a trailer around.
It has one purpose in mind...beat the dominate Chevy's and Fords at truck pulls. Once in awhile at least.
Was at several pulls this year to watch and many are running the same set of springs.
With nearly 500hp, locked in 4 wheel low, pullling at full throttle you need beef!!

Where's the beef?

Got the truck off the jack stands this last weekend. Have to add alittle more metal around the front spring mounts but for the most part the rear is in. up next is the shock mounts, brake lines and new bigger fuel line.
The threaded rod is only for alignment purposes only!
and of course some body work...but hey, its not built to win shows.
