    dana power loc id

    I picked up a 19 spline dana 44 power loc unit last weekend. I know it fits 66 - 71 CJ. Only problem, I can't tell if it's for 3.73 & lower or 3.92 & higher.
stamped 3 02 67 (date) & 23207x. Cast on back side of gear flange, C 30755. Can you tell which ratios it fits?http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m...e/IMG_0641.jpg

3.92 and higher at least i have one in the garage with similar numbers different mfg date with 4.27's on it.

hopefully someone with a dana parts book can chime in or you can call inland truck they might be able to look it up in their books . another option is find a open carrier for 3.54's (dime a dozen) set it up along side the plok and measure the gear surface height.
IF washington wont quit spending money like mad men then i suggest we claim 9 deductions in 2010 and withold or taxes till the final dead line of 4/15/2011.

I looked in my Dana catalog. I can't find that number for any 67 or 68 application even though it's dated 67.

My bet is it's a 3.92 up, since most CJs of that era were 4.88.
