    axle width

narrow trac versus wide trac how did they accomplish is the frame wider or is it the axle itself and the same with the model 17 did they just use longer tubes

mainly just looking for a longer short side tube without having to replace the tube but want to retain the sprung under axle

Both on the 82-up CJ and the Cherokee Chief the "wide track" was just longer axle tubes and shafts, no difference in the frames or spring placement. Each was about 2" wider on each side (4" total track width).

Not sure what you mean by a model 17, never heard of one.
