    Drowned my Jeep today

Found a nice hole that looked like it had a sandy bottom Turned out to be a deep drop off I knew it was bad when the headlights dissapeared, all was well as backup was on the way then the engine stalled With the tailpipes under it filled up quick and I ended up with a 8 mile tow back to the garage. Good news is it is back up and running less than an hour after getting home and 2 rounds of fresh oil to get the milkshake out.

I have a friend with an I-6 powered CJ that is so well waterproofed that it will run as long as the carb is above water. We were driving down a river one time sitting in water in the seats. Sucked so much water past the seals that the oil foamed and wouldn't run back into the crankcase. It finally had the valve cover so full that it started pushing out the breather, into the air cleaner, and was sucking it back in the carb and burning. You should have seen it smoke! Thought we really messed something up. Took several fills/drains of an oil/diesel/ATF mixture to break down that foamy oil. That thing went nearly 100K more miles before his girlfriend ran it out of oil and threw a rod.

Glad you got it fixed with no damage.
