    MPG vs E85

    Interesting here...

Drove my 99 Pontiac Grand Prix 3.1 to Mitchell SD this last weekend and back. Going there, I had a mix of almost half E85 and regular (anything more than 1/2 a tank of E85 sets the engine light off). Driving there I did have the A/C off as it wasn't warm enough. I got 24.8 MPG with 236 miles. Filled back up before I left with 9.6 gallons of reg. and and I got 23.6 MPG on the way back...was running the A/C on the way back.

Seems to me that the A/C isn't going to kill the mileage that bad...perhaps the 50/50 mix isn't so bad for mileage as straight E-85...

Right now E-85 is 67 cents less per gallon also!!
If this new part can't break....what old part will??

depends on the particular E-85 blend which can vary from as little as 70% to over 90% depending on the station and time of year and area it was bought in
