    Question about heads

Has anyone ever heard of cutting grooves in the valve area of the heads to allow a 10.5 ish motor to run on regular 87 octane?

I read a snippet of this once and am interested in doing it.

Any information or links would be great.

    Thanks,
    David

Thanks Bob! Thats exactly what I was talking about. Now do you know of a step by step method to doing it? It looks as simple as taking a ziz wheel and carving a groove, but surely it cant be that simple..... can it? Where do you stop the groove at both ends? How deep? etc.

    Thanks again,
    David

You might PM Rugged Old Crosser here on the board. That was his thread and pictures. He could probably offer up some insight on how he did it. you can also google "signh groove". There is info out there on the web.
