10.5 to 10.75 CR with something around 292/300 duration with .520/.540" lift with aluminum heads that flow good numbers around .550" to .600" lift will make that 401 sing. nothing too fancy but it'll sound good.

if you want power you need a cam with at least 240 duration or more at .050 lobe lift and 108 or less lobe seperation

I am running right now a crower solid 292fdp cam 248/250 with .500/.510 lift wleaned up cast heads and 12:1 CR

i have 352 hp to the ground and 420 ft-lb torq on a very lean run

Fuzz, what's your HP at the crank? What's the driveline power loss?

    Fuzz: [QUOTE=l I am running a th-400 manual reverse valve body [/QUOTE]

What is the object of running a reverse valve body? I just installed a TH400 in my C-5 and it is a manual valvebody without the reverse situation. Just wondering what that is all about. What is gained over the regular?

I haven't got mine fired up yet so I am still in the dark as to how it is going to perform. I have a 2000 stall speed in mine as ti will be only doing the regular wheelen. Hope that is going to be ok?

I've read that the TH400 eats about 40hp...also a 9 inch Ford rear eats more power than most.
If this new part can't break....what old part will??

Fuzz: Take a look at the specks of my cam. I have not fired it yet as when I went to fire it I discovered a cracked head at both ends of the head. I just got it back from having it welded. I would like to know how you think this will fit in for street and off road with my Cj. My heads (291-c) have been extensively ported and polished w/ ss valves with undercut stems. 2.020 int. and 1.688 exh. valves.. Also using the air gap.

I think you will like it it looks like it will have a nice sound and mid to upper power I had years ago the 258cam in a 360 and it ran real good and yours is a step up from that
