    1990 cherokee fuel pump

Does anyone know how to replace the fuel pump on a cherokee? i assume the tank has to come out. Does anyone have a recommendation for a new pump?

Been a long time but I was a parts guy for a jeep dealer. You are correct the tank does have to come out of the vehicle. Cant remember if that has a plastic retaining nut or a metal retainer? Go strait to a dealer for a pumpmodule assembly, I personally have had nothing but problems with aftermarket pumps.

Thanks I have to thaw the thing out before I can get too far into it. so far Ive checked fuel pressure and it is 0 so now I need to check the wiring and make sure its not just a fuse or relay. This thing spent a week in the woods a half mile from the nearest plowed road. fortunately for us a logging crew started a cut and plowed right past it and were even nice enough to plow around it so it was nice and easy to get out.
