alternator / AC bracket question for 360

I have a cj5 which HAD a waggy (91 or so) 360 in it. I am in the process now of getting ready an early 70's 360 and have run into a couple of issues. Right now my main concern is the alternator bracket AND the AC bracket.
I have found plenty of posts here and elsewhere about how to connect them, even with diagrams. But no matter how I try to arrange it the following bracket just WILL NOT fit:

Also, see the bolt sticking out below? I put it there just to display the whole I wanted to ask about. WOuld this bolt size CHANGE for any reason from block to block???

and lastly, if someone could just eyeball my setup and tell me why my waterpump bolt isn't long enough now?

I'm thinking you're using non-A/C alternator brackets. See the attached pic for A/C style brackets.

There are also 2 types of water pump housings, one for A/C and one without. The A/C waterpump has taller bosses on the passenger side. You can make spacers if you have the non-A/C type.

    you'll eventually pay for it...
    and not have it.
