I noticed some noise from my gantry this morning then it started cutting out of round. I started looking around and everything was tight as could be so I started checking and found the noise coming from the y axis motor OH great. I pulled the spring off of the motor plate to make sure the torch mech was sliding good and it was. I pulled the motor
and the pinion set screw had slightly loosened not much but it would move ever so slightly. I pulled the set screw put some more locktite on it and now i am waiting on it to dry. I have been running the table alot and have to say if this is all the trouble i have with it i am in great shape.
Well i got some more problems it seems the v rollers on the torch mech have a lot of play and are causing the motor pinion to tilt up thats where the noise was coming from. THe v rollers have a good bit of grease coming out of them. Heres a video of the slack. HELP PLEASE. I did call bulltear but it was late so i hope to hear from them tomorrow.
Well i figured out how to tighten the v rollers. But the pinion is still noisy and causing a vibration, when i remove the spring it is quiet as can be. I think i need a new pinion.
Yes you got something stuck on your gear. Inspect it carefully a small piece of slag will do that. There are cam bolts for the V wheels, I see you found those.
If you dont find anything on the pinion gear clean and then spray some white lithium grease on the rack gear and then run it side to side. That helped my noise and skipping problem.
