I'm buying an AMC 360 with the below modifications because I'm getting a great deal on it and I'm helping out a friend. I'd like some advice for picking out a new cam for it - it's too hot for me as is. I plan to install this in my rock crawling Jeep so I want to create an engine with a smooth idle and great torque from idle up throughout the rpm range while retaining as much top end as I can. I want it to feel like a big block.

One piece .080" wall chromoly push rods
Bored .030"
Ross 343 10:1 Forged Race Pistons

Clevit bearings throughout
Comp Cams 280 K-kit (.49 lift w/ 1.7:1 rockers -->.52" lift)

What would you recommend to best turn this into a torque monster that will idle along happily all day crawling over rocks the size of buffalo without touching the gas, and still be capable of instant wheel speed when desired?

Thanks

Adam
