    I thought INDY makes aluminum block?

    Indy does make an aluminum block, but it's cast, not billet. A cast block is liquid aluminum poured into a mold. Billet is machined from a solid block of aluminum. With billet, the quality of the entire block of aluminum can be controlled, it can't be with a pour.

    Thats really interesting. Sounds incredibly expensive and I cant imagine the time involved with the machining process. Technology is really something else. It seems the more I learn about engines the more I realize I know very little.
