Anyone running a router on their new 2012 table yet?

I'm getting ready to setup the router on my 2012 table and am looking for some pointers, suggestions. I have a 2.25hp Bosch router and have already built the mount for the z-axis.

I plan on building a wooden deck to sit over the water table of 1/2in particle board (CHEAP) that will allow the router to cut through the work piece. I plan to build it as level as possible, but do I need to use the router to perfectly level the top with a large bit?

Should I build a relay box to turn on the router and vacuum, or just turn each on by hand, run from Mach3, and then turn everything off when I'm done? I planned on at least wiring a switched outlet for both the router and vacuum so I could turn them both on from the front of the table.

Here is a gantry kit that was built into a 4x4 router by a local customer. Maybe he will chime in and show us some routing.
