I am raising funds for a long term missions trip in Asia and it looks like I might have to sell my baby to answer the call.
I have completely replaced the whole drive train. I was in the process of a complete, performance oriented restoration when I decided to head into the ministry.
So far in the past year it has had:
Brand new Summit 3 Row aluminum racing radiator $250
New MSD pro-billet Ready to Run Dizzy $350
New MSD 8mm wires $90
Matched MSD timing gears. $75
Edelbrock performer intake. $240
New oil pump. $50
New Carter Performance fuel pump $50
Edelbrock chrome valve covers $90
Holley 670Scfm Truck Avnger 4-bbl carb. $350
New Milodon high flow water pump. $100
Straight exhaust with stock headers (to keep torque)
New Crower stage II-III cam and lifters $180
401 fresh from engine shop. Never been fired. $4,000
New 9.5:1 compression cast pistons.
.30 over so its actually a "404"
Race Hone
The 401 has forged rods and crank
5-angle alve job.
Built for 350HP+
New bearings
New pushrods
Flushed and cleaned.
Rebuilt TF727. $1,000
New flywheel $90
New motor mounts
After market NP transfer case swap $400
31" M/T's $700 less than 8,000k
Locked front end with locking hubs. $300
Rustys 4" lift $700
New rear driveshaft $120
Has Factory Jeep hitch and Rare Golden Eagle rims.
Truck was meant to be an ugly sleeper and Weekend camping warrior for the light trails.
I drove it here from Texas.
Ran 75-85 just fine with old AMC 360.
Motor got a knock so I pulled it and started building up a strong 401.
Still have original AMC 360 Carb to oil pan
Has Edelbrock performer as well will Holley 4-bbl Carb
The bad. The interior could be better. I give 6/10
Drivers door and front fender have minor damage.
I was going to do body work and have the interior re-upholstered next but I have different priorities now.
The body AND FRAME are rust free.
This 401 is really a rare motor and I'm trying to raise funds for doing relief work overseas. So seriously. Don't low ball me.
I have put way too much time and money to accept crumbs and the money is needed for a good cause.
Its an 86 Grand Wag with 155,XXX on the clock but it doesn't matter when everything has been replaced.
The 401 came out of a 1976 Cherokee Chief
$8,600+ in parts alone. Not to mention little things like thermostats, gaskets, wiring, etc.
Plus initial $4,000 for Jeep
