    AMC 390 Heads

I looked at an AMC 390 today and the heads havew the dog leg portd. Can someone tell me if that would be correct? I always thought they had the square port heads. The head numbers if it helps are:
3188558-2. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

That's the correct casting number for 68/69 390 heads, but if the ports aren't square, someone worked on them. Those were all square from the factory.

A 390 has dog leg heads with 92.25 cc heads.Very rare ,if you want compression thats a good start.

1970 only had the doglegs and what they did was make the chamber a little smaller but the later heads made up for that by flowing better. IMHO 1970 heads arent worth the trouble.
