Using thin oil like that, I get similar results on my 401. Won't go down to 5psi, but more in the 10-15 range. It's cold here (North Eastern Canada) in the winter I use 10w30 or 5w30, and thicker 10w-15w40 for the summer. Once that 10w30 warms right up, I don't have much pressure near idle until 1500. I just figure the oil is warm and there is less resistance to flow. The thicker stuff like 15w40 stays higher when warm, especially for hot summer days but too thick for cold starts. The break-in is pretty much over and I'll move to a synthetic for year round this spring I think. I've used the Esso XD 0w40 synthetic in the 360 I had before, seemed to do the job. I might use that again.

Probably wouldn't hurt to try different pressure gauges to single out the gauge itself. I'm using a mechanical gauge, not electric, for no particular reason. Can't rely on only one reading device if you suspect a problem.

I'm no mechanical guru by any means. Just my 2 cents.
