Got the nut off the timing gear, what comes next? Is the fuel eccentric lobe a separate piece from the timing gear?

If you have the bolt and washer off you can pull the distributor drive gear , then the fuel eccentric, and finally the upper timing gear. 3 separate pieces. There are 2 woodruff keys in the camshaft, 1 for the distributor drive and fuel eccentric, the other for the timing gear. They are just a snug fit, but sometimes varnish will stick them on. A bit of heat from a propane torch sometimes helps.

If you need a tool and don't buy it...
you'll eventually pay for it...
and not have it.
