    OIL PUMP GEAR TO COVER CLEARANCE

    What is the absolute maximum clearance?

    The 69 TSM says the gears should extend .0025-.0065 past the pump body. Given a .007" thick gasket, that would put end clearance from .0045-.0005". I think the end clearance is more critical than wall clearance. The clearance from the gear to the walls should be .002-.004".
