    - the BOP and the Chevy bolt patterns share the same lower four bolts, And the dowel pins are in the same location relative to the crankshaft centerline. So by drilling for the different upper two bolts I made a Chevy scattershield bolt up any modern GM V8 (except maybe the Northstar/Arouras).

-GM made a version of their TH350 with a "universal" belhousing with both bolt patterns cast in I don't know about other trannies with this feature but SOME 80's TH-350's did use the universal feature - hard to find since they get snatched up by rebuilders - they can sell them to anyone!

    Bellhousing Information

    - Ford bellhousing bolt pattern info: the 240 and 300 (4.9) sixes use the small block bellhousing. 144, 170, & 200 Sixes have their own unique bolt pattern. The 221, 260, 289, 302, 351W, 351C, and the 250 small block six, all use the small block bellhousing. The 351M, 400, 429, & 460 use the Big block bellhousing. The 331, 352, 360, 390, 361, 391, 427, & 428 use the 'FE' bellhousing. The Olds aluminum V8 shares it's unique bellhousing bolt pattern with the early GM V6's and the 225 ci Jeep Commando V6.

    - the rare TH 400 used in (some ?, all ?) Quadratrac Cherokees. Has an AMC bolt pattern. I've seen adpater plates made to bolt a Chev pattern replacement case into the Jeep. So it might be possible to have a Jeep auto trans bolted to your Chevy in your Toyota. B&M and Trans-Dapt (and maybe others) make adapter plates so that you can use a BOP trans on a Chev and vise versa.

    Misc. Axle Widths

    8 lug 10 bolt front - 69 1/2"

    Trannies

Fuzz you're a font of knowledge, but I have a question...'87 Wrangler, 4.2L auto tranny. What's the difference between the 904, 999 and the TF 727 that these things came with? The only identifying marks on it are "964xx" on the passenger side bellhousing and 14 bolts in the pan. It's mated to a NP 231 splitter, but I can't ID the slush box

Anybody have a slip yoke eliminator for the 231???

    Thanks
    Mudrat
OBTW: My Chevy 2500 bit the money tree once to often (bad tranny / transfer vibs, and either the computer or the EFI system shit the bed) sooo... I swapped it out for an '03 Dodge, 2500 HD, 5.7 Hemi, 4DR, 4X4 with the REAL shift lever, not a pushbutton, 2 days before Isabel waxed us. Just in time too, used it to pull/lift a tree off the neighbors house via snatch block in the top of another tree! - No problem :D We just got power and internet service back after 9 days!!! Generator noise is OK for a night or 2, but not a frigg'n week :x 'Rat

    Thanks,
The 727 you show doesn't have any casting numbers or the fill tube on the passenger side. My casting marks start with 964xx, there's more but I'll have to scrape off the crud. So I guess my search continues.

    NP231 slip yoke eliminator?

Thanks, and Yes I AM interested in the Hemi Badge. This motor kicks a$$ when you put your foot down. For a big truck like this I get between 14-15.5 on the freeway at ~70-75, unless you open it up (a lot  ), then it drops to 10-11 MPG. But I tell ya, if you need to merge into freeway traffic -it's 50 to 90 in nothing flat and whatever's on the dash isn't!! I took my dad for a ride when I picked up the generator and he put his hat on the dash, I put it back in his lap! Next thing will be the headers, K&N and then see what else I can do for it :D
