    AMC to Chevy waterneck adapter

I have never liked the design of the AMC waterneck and gaskets so I've been working on a simple adapter to allow the use of various Chevy style waternecks with an AMC intake manifold. When changing the AMC stock cooling system design the ability to use all the different Chevy waterneck parts makes mods much easier. For example, when switching to an aluminum crossflow radiator it may be desireable to use -20 AN hose ends or a different angle hose. Using an O-ring seal also is possible by switching to Chevy parts.

Here's some photos of the 1st adapter and some of the Chevy parts that are available. I'm not completely satisfied with this 1st design but it's a good starting point. I'll being having a 2nd one made in the near term:

No problem Matt, I'm happy to have anyone offering custom parts for AMC's! The stuff I have made is usually a one-of-a-kind deal. If you offer something similar that's fine with me.

What about the water pump bypass hose?

In my current setup I don't use a dedicated waterpump bypass. I'm using the heater hose to provide the bypass along with some holes in the highflow thermostat. I have plugged the bypass nipple on the waterpump.

A bypass connection can be added to the adapter by drilling/tapping a hole in the front surface and using a nipple for the hose connection.
