    Full size Jimmy

I have a '85 full size jimmy with a 3" (or is it 4") lift, and 37" tires. SUCKS bad in the snow and even worse on the ice. Besides turnin' the hubs and throwing it in 4 hi, any ideas on better handling and control?

    1. cool!
    2. you may want to think about getting your tires siped, this will greatly increase your bite in the snow and ice
    3. Your a cool chick to drive such a big rig
    4. Tigger is a lucky guy

Once i ran 31 15:50 r15's on a cj and even with lockers and 4wd i could barely get anywhere, Think of it in 2 parts

    1. the lugs have a huge flat face on them

Yeah it's funny, you'd be amazed at how many people hear this beast coming, and look again when it's a woman driving, lol. Oh well, it's fun and I enjoy it for the most part.

Siped? Is that the small spikes? Or something different?

Yeah, Tigger's a lucky guy, and will be even luckier here in 8 days, LOL

siping is adding small cuts to your trad block so they flex a little, you can always get it hot spooned and add more grooves

Is this fairly expensive to get done?

call your local tire store and ask them what it would cost for siping on your tires

you might try finding a set of pirrelli scorpions that are about the same
size. had a set of them on a 90' cherokee(235 75/15) and never
used the 4x4 mode at my dads house in northern idaho. gripped on every
thing! trying to find a set to put on my 83' eagle. my dad just bought
a 2004 cherokee and the dealer put them on just to make the sale.
f.y.i. there was 4 feet of snow on the ground and the roads were just
    driveable not plowed very good.

Narrower tires work better at higher speeds in the snow. Keeps you from hydroplaning!
