a 300 is definately better in all respects but a 20 hold up fine to the same amount of power,

    300 2:46-1 low
    20 2:00-1 low

A 20 can be adapted to a th400 with a stock jeep adaptor found in certain FSJ's 67-73'. I run one in my 85' with a bulltear upgraded th400 adaptor. The factory adaptor is prone to breakage when it is not properly tightened. A dana 300 to th400 adaptors are made by Novak and Advanced adaptors and are priced from $439-550 same as the th400- dana 20 adaptor made by then as well.

The one advantage that a Dana 20 has over a 300 is that it uses a shorter adapter in most cases, which will yield a shorter drivetrain (a plus on a SWB vehicle with a lift.)
