One of our AMC club members, Jim Weyand, has a Silver State certificate for 180+ in his 68 AMX. He probably could have gotten close to 200, but 6th gear broke in his gearbox and he ran the last mile or so in 5th (speed is averaged over several readings on a 5 mile run).

It's a neat AMX, single 4BBL, well built 401, 6 speed, 3.15 gears. It's still street legal, and he drives it around town.

Hey if this is about "The Silverstate Challege" Then were are the pics of "THUMPER" Jim Weyands 69 AMX thats been clocked at 180 on that course......he just ran another race in Nebraska last month, and he and The Colorado AMC Club has been running at THE STATE PATROL TEST TRACK in Golden Colorado too.....thats on top of the BIG flat top Table Mountain behind Coors Brewrey FYI..........
