    bad syncros?

My T150 will not shift without grinding and when i go from power to coast in 1st or reverse it will grind. could this be caused be bad syncros. The gears look like their in good shape with no chips or burns on them. How tough would it be to rebuild this tranny.

The T-150 is easy to rebuild, and parts are readily available. Replace the entire syncro assembly and check the points of the teeth on the gears where the syncro engages, not just the brass brake. The grinding is usually caused by the points of the teeth being worn off. Put new bearings in it too.

I had a terrible time with them in MY Jeep. 1st on started popping out of 3rd. The next 3 all broke 2nd gear and the cluster. After the 4th T-150, I went to a T-18.
