    keyless entry replacement

    I have 1997 grand cherokee with keyless entry.Problem is the previous owner lost the remote key fob . Can this be replaced(ebay) and is it hard to reprogram it? thanks Jim L.

    If you swing by a local Auto Zone they should be able to order one in for you.....you just gotta stop by in the daytime between 8-5 so they can call in to get the specific details and whatnot.
    1980 CJ-5, 360 powered, T-18, Dana 20, Advanced Adapters output , 4.56's, Dana 30 frt chromoly shafts w/297 joints and Tru-Trac and M20 rear with Detroit, Superior shafts, and disc brakes and Tom Woods frt and rear shafts.........about 10k in misc aftermarket parts!

    Here is the factory jeep part# and pricing for you
    5014736aa $46.35 available within a day or two + whatever your local dealership charges to program it, the dealer I work for charges $60. It is my understanding that you cannot program these yourself, it has to be done at a dealer.

    Hmm......well thats information i couldnt have given

    Been about 7-8 years since I was at the dealer as a tech, I remember having to use the DRB scan tool to program these.

    You are correct, a drbIII tool is needed to program key fobs.
