Help Me Decide - Gremlin or Rambler

I am hoping that you as fellow AMC fans can help me to make a decision....

I have a 1977 Gremlin and a 1969 Rambler station wagon and I need to sell one of them but I am having a difficult time deciding which to keep.

There are many aspects to consider for my final decision.....

Both cars are 99% rust free but each need some minor body work and paint so that really isn't an issue. Interiors are pretty much equally nice, both cars need carpet but again, thats about it.

The Gremlin was originally a 2.0/4-speed car that now has a 360/727 from a 76 Matador and a 2.87 geared model 20 rear from a 70 Hornet. It runs high 13's at 101 on stock 175r14 tires....

The Rambler is all stock ( 232/auto ) at the moment except I have added disc brakes up front. My plans have always been to put a 401 ( I have ) and either a 4-speed ( I have ) or 5-speed in it. I have been even considering an automatic for simplicity.

Both cars run and drive just fine though their suspensions are all original and ideally need to be rebuilt.

The transmission in the Gremlin needs to be rebuilt ( slips and leaks ).

I would probably give them both up for another Javelin. Why did I ever sell my Javelin ???

I would like to hear why you, if you were me, would keep one or the other and why. I am open to any and all input.

    Thanks !

I was never a fan of those year gremlins but I do love the later style ramblers! My vote is Rambler!

Keep the Rambler. Send the Gremlin to me, I'll give it a good home.

as cool as gremlins are (the merth mobile from waynes world), a 4-door wagon with a wicked fast engine in sleeper trim, steel wheels with hubcaps is way cooler

I would have to say wagon all the way! There is nothing cooler than a grocery getter with a big engine and a 4 or 5 speed!
