Is there a rebuild kit for the CJ (86) or is there a replacement one that I can get from NAPA or AZ etc.

If your Jeep already has power steering, it's just GM/Saginaw. You can get a used box from any GM mid sized car from the 70s or 80s. Just make sure it uses 4 mounting bolts, some have 3. Rebuilt should be readily available at any auto parts place. If you have a manual box and want to convert, you need a different frame bracket, pitman arm, and intermediate shaft. If you want something better than stock, check out PSC or AGR. I have an AGR pump/box in my CJ. I went from having to "horse" it around with 2 hands to being able to palm the wheel around, even with the front locker engaged.

you'll eventually pay for it...
and not have it.
