After looking at it further, there is no way to center bearing hole directly over slot. If you look at the slot in block, it's offset toward the back and not centered.

Looks like effective way to do it. Even I will use flashlight and try to implement your process. Thanks :)

New bearing was installed the way it was before...I primed the engine with oil...it definitely gets a ton through pushrods and cam gear. I don't think I'll have any oiling issues.
