    Drive Shaft Timing

Ok I pulled a boner today.. Pulled the driveshaft off the truck to replace ujoints and the yoke came off the splines on the end. To put it back on do the how do the yokes line up? is it ujoint trunion cap to yoke or yoke to yoke?

Damn this is hard to 'splain.. ok two of the caps on a ujoint are pressed into a yoke with clips do these line up on both ends or are they 90 degrees apart?

(why oh why didnt I mark this thing instead of assume it wouldnt slide apart!)

    hopefully this helps a little

Both yokes should sit the same way, If you start gettnig more vibrations, pull it apart again and flip it 180 degrees, They are balanced and that is why you would usually mark it if it is coming apart

Thanksa million Paul, Proof positive that a picture is worth a thousand words..

I have been chasing a driveline vibration on this truck forever, so I may just flip that yoke 180 and see what happens..Thanks again.

Same thought went through my head. Those driveshafts look nice.
